Fighting Squirrels Fall to the Pride

STAUNTON, Va. – The Mary Baldwin University women's volleyball team took on Greensboro at home on Wednesday night for their first conference matchup of the season and lost.

The Fighting Squirrels fell in three sets, (19-25, 17-25, 23-25) and move to 1-14 overall and 0-1 in the conference while Greensboro improved to 8-6 and 1-0 in the conference.

Rachel Christian led the team with 13 kills, nine digs, two service aces and a game high 15 points. Madison Cash led the team defensively with 17 digs, three kills, and two assists. Emma Tomlinson added 31 assists, with three digs, and two service aces.

Hailey Stout led the Pride with a team high 11 kills and 13 digs to go along with two service aces, and a hitting percentage of .370. Olivia Norris added 25 assists, three service aces, and seven digs.

The Fighting Squirrels return to action on Saturday, September 28th when they travel to Salem, Virginia for a USA South Tri-Match with Salem and William Peace set to begin at 12 PM.
