FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Mary Baldwin University track & field programs wrapped up weekend competition at the Battleground Relays, hosted by Mary Washington, on Saturday afternoon.
The Fighting Squirrels combined to set 19 personal records this weekend, breaking seven school records.
Alice Wardy finished sixth in the 200m run with a time of 27.61. Wardy also finished in the top five in the triple jump placing second with a leap of 10.19 meters, and the long jump, placing fifth with a mark of 4.59 meters.
Josephina Reeder placed 1st in the 3000m steeple, clocking in a time of 13.31.22 and setting a new school record.
Quinland Musgrove placed in the top five in three events, placing third in the long jump, leaping 4.87 meters, fifth in the triple jump, with a mark of 9.93 meters and second in the high jump with a jump of 1.42 meters.
Mary Moran placed seventh in the discus, with a throw of 28.89 meters. Moran also finished eighth in the javelin, with a toss of 22.15 meters.
Kay Patton threw the javelin 28.64 meters, placing fifth and setting a new school record. Patton finished fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.37 meters.
Gregory Woodard finished third in the 100m run, clocking a time of 11.31 setting a new school record. Woodard had another top finish in the 200m where he placed fifth with a time of 23.43.
Max Doerwaldt placed fourth in the triple jump, leaping 11.63 meters.
Jerrel Graham finished seventh in the high jump with a mark near his own school record and set the 400m hurdle record as well.
Up next for MBU Track and Field is the USA South Conference Championships in Berea, Kentucky, hosted by Berea College, beginning on April 18.
