Coach Rose comes to Mary Baldwin University after a lifetime of involvement in soccer at multiple levels as both a player and coach. Growing up in St. Petersburg, FL, he played elite travel soccer from age 10 through 19 for the St. Petersburg Surf Soccer Club. He was also a 4-year letter winner while playing for Pinellas Park Senior High School. Coach Rose then played one year of college soccer for Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL, before transferring to St. Petersburg Junior College, where he played for two years, before finally transferring to the University of South Florida for his senior year - graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with a minor in Economics.

After graduation, Coach Rose continued playing at the highest amateur levels, winning multiple 6v6 national championships with the Tampa Kicks and competing at the National Indoor Soccer Championships with the Southern Knights (Orlando), advancing as far as the quarter-finals of this international competition. Coach Rose moved to the Washington, DC-area where he continued playing and began building and coaching various competitive, amateur men's teams. Competing at the highest levels of both the Washington International Soccer League and the Northern Virginia Soccer League, he served as a player/coach - winning multiple championship titles throughout the years. Coach Rose also won several individual honors, including the NVSL Premier Division Golden Boot (most goals) in both 2009 and 2010.

Coach Rose earned his first national coaching license in 2008 and has, most recently, been coaching multiple youth teams of various ages in the Central Virginia region. He holds the USSF D License and the United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping Level 3 Diploma, in addition to the United Soccer Coaches Systems of Play, and Integrating the GK Into Team Training special topic diplomas.

Coach Rose lives just outside of Charlottesville, VA with his wife, two children and two Jack Russell terriers.
