WINCHESTER, Va. – Members of the Mary Baldwin University men's and women's track & field teams traveled to the Kaye & JJ Smith Invitational, hosted by Shenandoah University, on Sunday.
For the women, Quinland Musgrove took first in the long jump with a leap of 4.88 meters in a field of nearly 20 competitors. She also placed third in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:43.93. Morgan Holmes ran the 200 and 400 meter races taking fourth in the 400 with a time of 1:05.92.
On the men's side, Gregory Woodard took sixth in the 200 meter in a field of over 20 runners with a time of 24.13, while Paul Dearing was not far behind with a time of 25.00. Woodard also ran the 400 meter in 54.06.
Max Doerwaldt ran an 8.91 in the 60m hurdles to qualify for the finals. In the finals, Doerwaldt ran an 8.76 to match the school record in the event
The Fighting Squirrels are back in action on Jan. 24 and 25 at the Liberty Kickoff, hosted by Liberty University.
