Mary Baldwin University’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee has elected its four officers for the 2017-2018 school year.
Junior Allisandra Bascunan, former Co-chair, representing Mary Baldwin Softball was voted Chair of SAAC. Makayla Scott, Volleyball’s lone senior, was voted Vice-chair. Senior Campbell Scollo and Junior Stephanie Barbaro, both Cross Country runners, were re-elected as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively, for the 2017-2018 school year.
SAAC has already began collecting canned goods for their annual food drive, “Cans Across the Conference” with the USA South Athletic Conference. All proceeds will be donated to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. All athletes are collecting donations; donations can also be dropped off in one of the bins located at the front of the Mary Baldwin Physical Activities Center.
SAAC is a student-athlete led leadership committee that works together to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare, and fostering a positive student-athlete image. Each varsity sport has one to three representatives, and all student athletes are welcome to attend their biweekly meetings.
