Volleyball Hosts USA South Quad Match

STAUNTON, VA - The Mary Baldwin University volleyball team hosted a USA South volleyball quad match this afternoon on the campus of Mary Baldwin University.  Greensboro College, Methodist Univeristy, and N.C. Wesleyan College all competed to improve their standing in the USA South Conference.

In the first match, Methodist University defeated Mary Baldwin 3-0.  Michaela Beveraly led Mary Baldwin's offense with 5 kills.  Makayla Scott and Brenda Korlison led the defense with 6 and 5 digs respectively.

Methodist defeated Greensboro College in the second match of the day 3-1 while Greensboro bounced back in the third match to defeat N.C. Wesleyan College 3-1.

In the final match of the day, Mary Baldwin played against N.C. Wesleyan College.  This visitors defeated Mary Baldwin 3-0.  Brittany Sharon and Michaela Beverely led the offense tallying 7 and 6 kills respectively while Makayla Scott and Tatyana Johnson led the defense with 11 and 10 digs.

Mary Baldwin University, 0-17, continue play on the road this week.  The Fighting Squirrels take on Ferrum College on Tuesday then travel to Bridgewater on Wednesday before competing at Greensboro College on Saturday.
