Volleyball Continues Play on the Road

GREENSBORO, NC - The Mary Baldwin University volleyball team continued play this week on the road. 

On Tuesday, the Fighting Squirrels fell to Ferrum 0-3.  Brittany Sharon led the team on offense with 3 kills while Michaela Beverly led the defense with 9 digs.  The following evening, Mary Baldwin traveled to Bridgewater for a non-conference match again falling in straight sets.  Beverly again led the team defensively with 7 digs while also leading the team on offense with 4 kills.

Mary Baldwin returned to conference play on Saturday traveling to Greensboro, NC to battle William Peace University and Greensboro College in a USA South quad match.  Mary Baldwin fell in both matches 0-3.

Against the Pacers, Tatyana Johnson and Brenda Korilson finished with 3 and 2 kills respectively.  The defense was also a balanced effort with Johnson talllying 9 digs while Michaela Beverly and Makayla Scott adding 5 each.

In the final match of the week against Greensboro College, Tatyana Johnson and Michaela Beverly led the team with 5 and 4 kills respectively while the defense was led by Nyla Isaac with 7 digs.  Isaac was followed closely by Brenda Korilson with 6 digs.

Mary Baldwin University, 0-21 (0-8 USAS), return home to face Averett University, the top team in the East Division, before returning to the road next weekend.
