Mary Baldwin WSOC Falls to Greensboro College

September 10th, 2018 - STAUNTON, VA

Mary Baldwin women's soccer suffered their second defeat of the season on Saturday evening, losing 5-0 at Greensboro College. With Captain Summer Leverett out due to injury, the Fighting Squirrels had to find leadership in their back line. MBU were led by senior captain, Brittany Tenn, who contributed with 16 saves, as well as freshman captain Logan Metts, who started at central defender.

"They are showing a lot of improvement with each game," said Head Coach Amanda Evans after the game. "With over half of our starting lineup being first year student athletes, we have a great opportunity to grow and build a program. Each game is a great learning opportunity for us, and we took a lot out of this game, both as individuals and as a team."

The Fighting Squirrels expect to take this experience into their first home game against William Peace this Tuesday, September 11th at 3PM. Admission is free for all students and the public.
